Everyone has certainly felt the annoying sensation of their ears ringing, without being able to pinpoint a real source for where the sound is coming from. It can be perceived as ringing or even humming, buzzing, whooshing, clicking, beeping, roaring, hissing, and a variety of other similar sounds. In most cases, this sensation lasts only for a short while, but there are also many situations in which the ringing does not go away soon, or at all, lasting from months, years, to a lifetime.
This affliction is called tinnitus and can be the result of a variety of causes like: prolonged exposure to loud noises, an ear infection, hearing loss in the case of elderly people, a side effect of certain medication, heart disease. To manage it, doctors propose a wide range of treatments, from drugs, nutritional supplements, white noise therapy, to surgery. So far none of them has had guaranteed success.
Thomas Coleman, a man who battled with tinnitus for 14 years and finally conquered it, puts forth his own ears ringing treatment, in his book entitled Tinnitus Miracle, a 250-page guide that describes his personal system that helped him get rid of the problem. According to Coleman, the system will help people completely eliminate all tinnitus related-symptoms in 2 months, with results being visible within the first week, without needing drugs, audio therapy or surgery.
The book is divided into five chapters:
Chapter 1: How Your Hearing Works
Chapter 2: Everything You Need to Know About Tinnitus
Chapter 3: Diagnosing Your Tinnitus
Chapter 4: Tinnitus and the Emotional Brain
Chapter 5: The 5-Step Holistic Approach to Getting Rid of Your Tinnitus
The author set out to tackle several issues, offering information and tips on different aspects of the condition, such as the causes of ears ringing and various methods of handling it. Here’s what you can find out by reading Coleman’s book:
- what some of the common personality traits of those suffering from tinnitus are;
- the connection between the brain and this affliction;
- how anxiety, lack of sleep and a stress filled life affect tinnitus;
- which foods alleviate and which worsen the symptoms;
- herbs and supplements that strengthen the immune system;
- how to attack the root of the problem and prevent a reoccurrence;
- medication that leave the ears ringing and that should be avoided at all cost.
What Coleman stresses as being the most important thing of all is that his system is holistic, that there is no single cure and that a proper combination of different approaches is the solution. True to that, his 5-Step system includes: dietary changes, ways in which to boost the immune system, a program for tinnitus retraining, methods for detoxifying the body and tips on using hypnotherapy.
The book is addressed to those suffering from moderate cases of ears ringing, as well as to those who are faced with severe problems; it presents a lot of information about the dos and don’ts of tinnitus, and attempts to offer help in eliminating it, by methods that are tailored to every individual’s specific needs.
